A.B. Combs Families,

Thank you to all families who volunteered for Field Day! It was a huge success.  We are so proud of our Combs Robotics Team for representing our school last weekend at the WCPSS Robotics competition.  Our Gator Thespians did a fantastic job performing the school play on Thursday.

This coming week is Teacher Appreciation Week.  Thank you for joining us in celebrating the hard work our teachers do daily to support our students.

Teacher Appreciation Week:  Combs PTA has organized Teacher Appreciation Week during the week of May 6th-10th.  Activities are planned to recognize the great teachers and staff at Combs.   Our PTA could use your help! If you can donate your time or drinks/candy, it would be much appreciated. Please sign up here.

Pancakes and Pajamas:  We invite families to join their child for Pancakes and Pajamas! Please come dressed in your favorite pajamas to enjoy this special breakfast. Last names A-L are welcome to come to breakfast on Thursday, May 9th, and last names M-Z on Friday, May 10th. Breakfast will be available from 7:45-8:30 am, and families are asked to bring cash or check!  Our cafeteria does not take debit or credit cards.

Celebrate the Arts: Our Night of the Arts will be May 14th beginning at 6pm. Take a look at the times for each group performance.  Artwork from every student will be on display throughout our building. Please join us to celebrate our leaders in so many different ways!

School-wide Silver Tray Luncheon: We will celebrate AB Combs Day on May 16th with a school-wide Silver Tray Luncheon. The cafeteria will be adorned with tablecloths and centerpieces, and the orchestra from Enloe HS will be playing during lunches. Just like in a typical day, students will be able to bring their lunch from home or buy lunch from the cafeteria.  Here is the menu for the cafeteria that day.  A former Combs teacher will be featured on manners videos that we will view leading up to the event to be prepared for this fancy affair.  We ask that everyone dress for success on this day.

Celebrate Success/Student-Led ConferencesPlease join us on Friday, May 17th, to celebrate our many accomplishments of the school year. We will share data, our data tracking, and awards with one another! Student-Led Conferences will take place on Friday, May 17, at specified times below in students’ classrooms. We look forward to seeing you there!

  • Kindergarten: 1:00-1:30
  • 1st grade: 9:10-9:40
  • 2nd grade: 1:45-2:15
  • 3rd grade: 11:45-12:15
  • 4th grade: 9:45- 10:15

Volunteers Needed for Art:  We need volunteers to help prepare for the art show as part of Celebrate the Arts night in May! Volunteer dates start in April, and we need lots of help! Please sign up using this link if you can come in and help!

Students not returning for next year: It’s hard to believe, but we are in the beginning stages of preparing for next school year.  Our teacher allotments depend on the number of students we have registered.  If you know your child will not be returning to Combs for the next school year, please email our data manager, Ms. Sarah Ferrell, at sferrell2@wcpss.net

Panorama Survey: Help us make your child’s school experience as positive and beneficial as possible by giving honest, thoughtful responses to the questions in our family survey from April 8 - May 17. bit.ly/WCPSSFamilySurvey  This is a district-led survey provided to all families and we welcome your feedback.
