November 23, 2021
We hope you and your family enjoy a restful and memorable Thanksgiving season. This is just a reminder, we will not have school the remainder of this week. School will resume on Monday, November 29th.
Combs Food Drive: Help us give back to our community friend, Inter-Faith FOod Shuttle. They support our school with Backpack Buddy program and we are collecting canned/ prepackaged goods from November 29-December 10th. A flyer was sent home with your child with more information.
Coffee Talk: Please join us for another virtual Coffee Talk with Mrs. Sexton on Friday, November 19th at 9am. The link will be shared on the school website prior to the event.
Science Fair: There is a flyer in your child’s Friday folder that shares important information regarding our Science Fair at Combs. Participation is optional for all students. Registration opens November 29th and closes January 7th. Science Fair projects are due Friday, January 14th.
Magnet Tours: Do you know families who would like to tour Combs for the 2022-23 school year? Our magnet tours are underway and interested families can sign up on our school website.
What to do if your child is sick: If your child shows any of the following symptoms, your child will need to stay home. If your child is sick at home with these symptoms they may not return to school unless they receive a negative PCR covid test, or an alternate diagnosis from a doctor, or 10 days quarantine at home. These symptoms include: shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, cough, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. As always, everyone must be fever free and feeling well for 24 hours prior to returning.
Mark your calendars for these upcoming events:
Wednesday, November 24th-Friday, November 26th: Thanksgiving break
December 3rd: Parent Coffee Talk at 9am with Mrs. Sexton
December 7th: School wide Spelling Bee
