Return to Headlines

November 10, 2021

This is just a reminder that there will be no school tomorrow, Thursday, November 11th, in observance of Veteran’s Day.  There will also be no school on Friday, November 12th, as it is a wellness day.

Arabic Family Engagement Session: We are hosting a Virtual Arabic Family Engagement session on Wednesday, November 10th from 6pm-7pm.  Families can access the link here.  The topic will be about the fundamentals of reading.

Spelling Bee: Interested students can sign up to participate in their classroom spelling bee next week.  Grade level spelling bees will take place the week of November 29th and the school wide spelling bee will be held on Tuesday, December 7th.  Thank you to our wonderful PTA for organizing this event.  More information can be found here.

Magnet Tours: Do you know families who would like to tour Combs for the 2022-23 school year?  Our magnet tours are underway and interested families can sign up on our school website.

What to do if your child is sick: If your child shows any of the following symptoms, your child will need to stay home.  If your child is sick at home with these symptoms they may not return to school unless they receive a negative PCR covid test, or an alternate diagnosis from a doctor, or 10 days quarantine at home. These symptoms include: shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, cough, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.  As always, everyone must be fever free and feeling well for 24 hours prior to returning.

Mark your calendars for these upcoming events:

Wednesday, November 10th: Arabic Family Engagement Event 6pm-7pm

Thursday, November 11th: Veteran’s Day, no school

Friday, November 12th: Day of Reflection, no school
