Hello A.B. Combs families,

What a fun day celebrating reading with our schoolwide day of Camp-Read-A-Lot!  It was an exciting day to enjoy lots of reading with tents, flashlights and camping gear.

Please review the information below for your weekly Combs update.

Welcome Mrs. Elrod: We are happy to share that Mrs. Patsy Elrod has transitioned into the role of our new assistant principal beginning Friday, October 15th.  We are delighted to have her join our school community!

Survey to complete: A primary goal of our Student Services team is to support student needs and, when needed, connect their families to available community resources.  Please complete the survey at the following link at your earliest convenience: https://forms.gle/fyEDXi2VasQf4gmXA.  The link also provides access to information about community resources.

Yearbook Contest: We are looking for our wonderful leaders in art!  The deadline for students to submit drawings for the cover of the 2021-22 yearbook is October 22nd.  More information about the Yearbook Cover Contest can be found here.

Volunteer Registration: While we are not able to welcome volunteers in our school at this time, we would like to be proactive and have interested families complete the required volunteer registration.   If you are interested in volunteering at any event or field trip, you must complete the volunteer registration at a WCPSS facility by October 29th.  We will have a computer available in the front office to complete this process.

What to do if your child is sick: If your child shows any of the following symptoms, your child will need to stay home.  If your child is sick at home with these symptoms they may not return to school unless they receive a negative PCR covid test, or an alternate diagnosis from a doctor, or 10 days quarantine at home. These symptoms include: shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, cough, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.  As always, everyone must be fever free and feeling well for 24 hours prior to returning.
