Dear Trojan Family,

We hope you had a wonderful week. This week’s updates include important reminders, upcoming events, and ways to work together to ensure every student is prepared to take off!

Upcoming Events

 

February 17th - No School for students

February 18th - 2nd ELA NC Check-in, Make-Up Days Feb 19th and 20th. 

February 20th - First Priority Club Meeting - 7:15 AM Media Center 

February 21st - Dance (4:00 - 5:30); Cost: $5; (Students are to stay after school and are not permitted to leave and return.)

On February 14th, scholars received Quarter Two awards. If your child did not receive his/hers, please contact their homeroom teacher. 

 

Please be sure we have your updated contact information. Our main method of communication is through Talking Points.

If your child received a retention letter; There is a possibility of retention for your child based on his or her current performance. In accordance with WCPSS Policy 3420 Student Promotion and Accountability, students should progress to the next level of study only after they are proficient in their knowledge and application of the current curriculum. To be promoted to the next grade level in middle school, students must meet test proficiency standards and receive a passing grade (D or better) in the following subjects: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science or Social Studies, Half of all other courses taken. After a careful review of your child’s current academic performance, including individualized support strategies, our data indicates that your child is not successfully progressing toward grade promotion. This data may also be indicated on your child’s report card.
