Weekly Update -11/22/20

Good Sunday East Garner Magnet Middle School Families, this is Jimmy Sposato, the proud principal of the Trojans reaching out with your weekly update. We are closed Wednesday through Friday for the Thanksgiving Holiday. With all that is swirling around right now it may be difficult to adopt a thankful posture but I encourage you all to look for the spots of sunshine and light that we experience each day and the wonderful people in our lives that love us through it all.


  1. Monday and Tuesday are scheduled Remote Learning Days. These are asynchronous days designated by the State. All students will learn remotely. We will not have live classes, some teachers may offer office hours at different times in the day but it is not required. Students should log into Google Classes to complete assignments to be counted present.
  2. Monday is a B Day.
  3. PTSA Fundraiser: Our EGMMS fundraiser starts this Monday, November 2nd and we need your help! Our goal is to raise $10,000.00 to directly support our scholars and staff for the 2020-2021 school year. It's as simple as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Reminder: Food Distribution During Thanksgiving Week

On Tuesday, Nov. 24, our CNS team will distribute a four-day holiday pack at our curbside pick-up locations (Barwell Elem, East Garner Elem and Creech Rd) and Big Bus Food Truck sites as long as supplies last. Food distribution services will not be occurring Nov. 25-27.

Teacher of the Week: We would like to congratulate  from the Wolverines, as the EGMMS Trojan Teachers of the Week. Thank you for all the nominations and we have notified all teachers who were nominated. Teachers celebrate these nominations from their students and parents tremendously. We will continue to do this weekly so keep nominating.  Please take a moment to nominate a teacher for their outstanding work in leading and connecting with their students. Thank you!
