Good evening East Garner Magnet Middle School Families, this is Jimmy Sposato, the proud principal of the Trojans reaching with the Weekly Update. Monday is an A Day.
Plan B middle school students will return to school in a 3-week rotation starting November 9. I notified Plan B families directly this past week of their child’s rotation assignment late next week. Please let us know if you did not receive the email. Rotation 3 will be the first on campus. We will outline the expectations and procedures that we will have in place to promote safety. Students will be required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing at all times when on campus. We are not approving any shifts between virtual academy and Plan B at this time as staffing has been assigned based on parent requests in August. You will have an opportunity to change your preference for the 2nd semester beginning later this month. Calendar 2nd Quarter
We understand that students may be feeling the press of missing assignments. We are accepting late work up until one week prior to the end of the quarter. All late work is due on October 15th. Please have your students talk to their teachers about missing work options.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month - In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month we will have a PINK OUT every Friday starting October 9th. We are asking all staff and scholars to wear pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Athletics - We may still have athletics beginning the 2nd semester. Please know that eligibility will be determined by 1st semester grades. If you want to play football, basketball, soccer, cheer, softball or run track you must work on your grades now!
We will continue with our Asynchronous Wednesday this Wednesday and are transitioning to a full asynchronous day, which will include electives as well. This will be a great opportunity to get work completed and submitted
We would like to congratulate Dr. Wright, from the Lions, as the EGMMS Trojan Teacher of the Week. Thank you for all the nominations and we have notified all teachers who were nominated. Teachers appreciate these nominations from their students and parents tremendously. We will continue to do this weekly so keep nominating. Please take a moment to nominate a teacher for their outstanding work in leading and connecting with their students. Thank you! https://forms.gle/6JkD8KNFDhAKKb3r6
