Opening of school information: https://www.wcpss.net/EGMMS2021SchoolYear
Good evening East Garner Magnet Middle School Families, this is Jimmy Sposato, the proud principal of the Trojans reaching with the Weekly Update. Tomorrow is a workday and there will be no live sessions or additional work assigned, other than catching up on work and doing DreamBox. Tuesday is a B Day.
We are almost five weeks into this new adventure and more change is likely on the way. We want to know how we are doing and to understand the challenges your scholar is facing at home. Please take a moment to complete this survey. Please complete one survey per child. https://forms.gle/uWDdvcCVBTAWPM9A8
We will continue with our Asynchronous Wednesday this Wednesday. The feedback we have gotten is that Wednesday works best if students have time to visit office hours and to catch up on work. Teachers will have brief assignments posted in each of their core classes but they will not have live sessions with teachers, except for electives. Core teachers will offer office hours during the day to support students, clarify, reteach and remediate. Teachers will share the office hours schedule with kids and give them instructions. We will have homeroom as normal.
EGMMS Teacher of the Week: This year has been challenging for all of us and we want to recognize teachers for their efforts in connecting and leading in this age of remote learning. Students and families have first hand knowledge of the work and energy teachers are putting into their instruction. Please take a moment to nominate a teacher for their outstanding work in leading and connecting with their students. Thank you! https://forms.gle/nJ6Je1UYno95pRVz8
