Good afternoon East Garner Magnet Middle School Families, this is Jimmy Sposato, the proud principal of the Trojans calling with your Remote update. So this is it for the 2019-2021 school year. Thank you for your support and perseverance during the remote learning

We created a farewell message that we aired last week on our YouTube channel.  We are to share our Empowering Words Video with.

Important: Grading Guidelines

Families will be able to access their child's final grades in PowerSchool by the end of the day today.  WCPSS will not be mailing report cards home this year. If you are unable to utilize PowerSchool, you can request a copy (by email or phone call) of the report card to be mailed home.

- Also, perhaps you can announce the teachers who are retiring and moving on? So everyone can know and send emails or whatever.

Rising 7th Grade Families - The State requires a series of vaccines be completed prior to enrolling in 7th grade. I have attached information to this email to help you comply with these requirements. Flyer

I have several updates from the PTSA:

The PTSA established the Elma Brown Impact Service Award to honor a wonderful lady who served as PTSA treasurer while her granddaughter was a student at EGMMS and was always a beautiful example of how volunteerism can positively impact the education, health, and success of a community. I get to announce the first two winners.Staff recipient: Lorraine Phillips, for her countless years of loving dedication to everyone at EGMMS. Student recipient: Aiden Sanderson, for his volunteer work at Able to Serve. Both of you positively impact and inspire your community everyday!

Do you want to help make your student's middle school years great? To have school dances and other, special events for them to enjoy? To make sure their teachers have everything they need in the classroom? To help students go on field trips? To be a part of important conversations about what's happening in the school? To show your student how important it is to be a part of making your community better?

The 2020-2021 PTSA Board needs you! If you care about a student at EGMMS, you are a great candidate!

The current PTSA board is made up of mostly 8th grade parents who are moving on to high school. All board positions are open and need to be filled! Any amount of help you can give makes a huge difference! We are a team; we all do what we can but always put our own family needs and paying jobs first! This is a very rewarding volunteer opportunity, one that benefits the entire school, and one that will mean A LOT to your important student!

Open for Election: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary

Chair Positions: Membership, Fundraising, Communication, Spirit Wear/Nights, Cultural Arts, Honor Roll/Teacher Appreciation

Please email if you are interested and/or have any questions.

We will be having a quick online meeting (via Google Meet) Wednesday, 6/17 at 6pm to fill positions and plan for a smooth transition! The Google Meet link will be shared via email from Memberhub (for all PTSA members) and on the EGMMS PTSA Facebook group page early next week.

Thank you for your support!

Be safe. I miss you all!
