Principal's Weekly Message

Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families,

It was a fantastic final week of instruction here at The Creek! I appreciate everyone’s support as we closed out our last full week following our class schedule.  Next week is exam week and I hope your students have been communicating with you all their exam expectations and schedule, and just in case I have continued to keep exam information as a part of this week’s email.   Most of the information in this week’s email is review, but I appreciate your continued attention to all the little details as we close out the school year.  We wish all our students best of luck on their exams next week!

Information & Reminders:

Final Exam Information:

Final exams for second semester classes will be held on-campus the week of June 5th-9th.  Students will be taking either teacher-made exams or  a state-mandated exam (CTE or EOC courses).  Reminder, that final exam participation is required unless you have a 12th grader that has earned exemption status for a particular course.  Final exams will count for 20% of the final course grade.

Schedule-Spring 2023 Exam Schedule

If a student would like to be dismissed and picked up prior to the study hall, parents may approve that option.  Below is the permission form that must completed and signed in order for a student to be dismissed after their exam period (12:00ish).  Students will need to turn this permission form in to their teacher on the day of each exam. Students who are planning to take advantage of early dismissal must leave campus at the end of the exam period and may not come back to campus unless they have an athletic practice or extracurricular activity.

Donate Blood & Support the MCHS Band!

Each donor will receive $40 in rewards and a $20 charitable donation per donor will be made to the band! Each blood donation saves up to 3 lives! Donors need to be at least 16 years old (16-year-old need a permission slip signed by a parent which will be at the blood drive), weigh at least 110 pounds, have ID and be in general good health.

Please schedule an appointment by clicking on this link: https://bit.ly/3BTSWNZ

Walk-ins are welcome but appointments will be honored first.

If anyone 16 yrs of age needs the permission form, let Mrs. Doody know jean.doody@gmail.com

Students not returning for next year:

It’s hard to believe but we are in the beginning stages of preparing for next school year.  Our teacher allotments depend on the number of students we have registered/enrolled.  If you know your student will not be returning to MCHS for next school year, please email Ms. Berry at syberry@wcpss.net.

Seniors:

Chromebook Return -

Graduating Seniors need to return their WCPSS chromebook and charger to the media center prior to the last day of school.  Once they are done using it, they can drop off their chromebook and charger in the Media Center to Ms. Sumner or Ms. Dextre.  Students will also be able to drop off their chromebook and charger after the Senior Picnic or after either Graduation Rehearsal.

2023 Graduation & Rehearsal:

Middle Creek Graduation will be at the Convention Center on Sunday, June 11th at 2:00pm.  Graduation rehearsal will be June 6th and June 7th at MCHS- and it is mandatory.  More information can be found in the Senior Handbook linked here.  Please make sure to review and save these dates as Graduation Rehearsal is mandatory.
