Principal's Weekly Message

Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families,

I hope all of our families have been enjoying this long weekend and celebrating Memorial Day. May we all take time today to pause and reflect on those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Below are some  reminders & information for next week.

Information & Reminders:

Final Exam Information:

Final exams for second semester classes will be held on-campus the week of June 5th-9th.  Students will be taking either teacher-made exams or  a state-mandated exam (CTE or EOC courses).  Reminder, that final exam participation is required unless you have a 12th grader that has earned exemption status for a particular course.  Final exams will count for 20% of the final course grade.

The schedule for final exams is provided below and will be reviewed with students in their homeroom in the coming weeks. Each day students will have one exam, time for lunch, and then have scheduled time to review for an upcoming exam or complete other work. Bus transportation will run as normal.

Most students will not report to campus on Friday, unless they have to make-up an exam missed earlier in the week.

Schedule-Spring 2023 Exam Schedule

If a student would like to be dismissed and picked up prior to the study hall, parents may approve that option.  Below is the permission form that must completed and signed in order for a student to be dismissed after their exam period (12:00ish).  Students will need to turn this permission form in to their teacher on the day of each exam. Students who are planning to take advantage of early dismissal must leave campus at the end of the exam period and may not come back to campus unless they have an athletic practice or extracurricular activity.

Each donor will receive $40 in rewards and a $20 charitable donation per donor will be made to the band! Each blood donation saves up to 3 lives! Donors need to be at least 16 years old (16-year-old need a permission slip signed by a parent which will be at the blood drive), weigh at least 110 pounds, have ID and be in general good health.

Information from Student Services:

Seniors: Please report scholarships to Student Services!

Senior and senior families, we want to recognize seniors who have been awarded scholarships this year and include them on our Senior Scholarship Listing.  Please take a picture of the scholarship letters that you have received and email to Mrs. Mercado in Student Services at dmercado@wcpss.net.  Last year’s seniors received over $8 million in scholarships and we know the Class of 2023 will represent just as well!  Make sure to check our Scholarship listing page as we have posted several new available scholarships over the past few weeks.

Calendar:

Fri, June 2nd:      Senior Meeting (11:30) & Senior Picnic

That concludes my reminders and announcements for this week. See you bright and early tomorrow!
