Principal's Weekly Message
Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families,
I hope that everyone had a wonderful week. Just a reminder that this weekend will be extended, with Monday for a holiday. Next week we have the last 3 instructional days of the First Semester, and final exams start on Friday! Hopefully your students feel prepared for their upcoming exams and have reviewed the process and schedule with their teachers. Just in case, I have included the testing details again below, along with some additional reminders and pieces of information.
Information & Reminders:
Final Exam Information:
Final exams for first semester classes will be held on-campus January 20th-27th. Students will be taking either teacher-made exams or a state exam (CTE or EOC courses). Reminder, that final exam participation is required unless you are a 12th grader that has earned exemption status for a particular course. Final exams will count for 20% of the final course grade. Please email our testing coordinator, Anna Carpenter at ascarpenter@wcpss.net if you have any questions.
The schedule for final exams is provided below and will be reviewed with students in their classes next week. Each day students will have one exam, the opportunity to get lunch, and there is an opportunity for study hall after the exam period. The afternoon review time is optional, and students will have the option to be picked up early after the exam time period is over (12:00pm.) Bus transportation will run on an early dismissal as well during exams.
Fall Semester Final Exam Schedule Linked Here!
If a student would like to be dismissed and leave campus by transportation other than bus prior to the study hall, parents permission is required. Below is the permission form that must completed and signed in order for a student to be dismissed after their exam period (between 11:30-12:00pm depending on the status of the exam completion). Students will need to turn this permission form in to their teacher on the day of each exam. Students who are planning to take advantage of early dismissal must leave campus at the end of the exam period and may not come back to campus unless they have an athletic practice or extracurricular activity.
ACT Prep Class:
Middle Creek High School is offering an ACT Prep Class for Juniors. The dates of the course are listed below and each day will cover a different section of the test. The class will be located in the Media Center and will take place from 2:30-4:00. Students wishing to participate should complete this registration form.

February 15 – Math
February 22 – Reading
March 1 – Science
Middle Creek High School will be administering the ACT to all Juniors on Wednesday, March 8. Students will receive detailed information closer to the test date. Students will be participating in the ACT in an online format and will need to bring their device for testing.
Seniors:
Senior Slideshow - We have extended the deadline to January 31st. Please submit if you have not already!
This year we will be creating a senior slideshow with pictures submitted by Seniors and their families. We are asking all seniors to complete the form linked below sharing 3 pictures (per senior) that represent them and their time in school or at MCHS or growing up. These pictures must be school appropriate, as the slide show will be created and shared with seniors as part of a celebration activity towards the end of the year. If you have questions, please contact lmegronigle@wcpss.net. The last date to complete the form will be January 31st. This information will also be sent to all seniors via their wcpss email address.
