Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families,
Welcome to August! This is a last “summer updates” email, as the school year is right around the corner! I hope you find the information helpful, and we will begin with the more official weekly principal emails starting this weekend.
Important Information & Reminders:
Schedule Updates for School Year 22-23
Our MCHS Scheduling team is hard at work getting student schedules ready for the start of the school year. In the off-chance that students can see a schedule in powerschool at any time during July and early August, please know that this schedule is NOT FINALIZED and has a high likelihood of changing. We will announce via the MCHS website when schedules are finalized and students can view them in Power Schools. There will be an opportunity also announced for students to request a schedule correction based on very specific criteria. Please stay tuned!
9th Grade Student Orientation:
MCHS Staff is underway with plans for our Freshman Orientation! Our 9th Grade Students should plan to attend the MCHS 9th Grade Orientation THIS THURSDAY, August 11th from 8:30-11! This orientation will include information about resources, the start of school, and include a school tour. There will also be an opportunity to buy MCHS gear! We can’t wait to welcome them into the building on Thursday morning.
In conjunction, there will be a 9th grade parent information session from 8:30-9:30am. in the MCHS auditorium. For convenience, if a parent cannot attend the in-person session, there will also be a virtual parent meeting that night (August 11th) at 6:00pm. The link will be shared closer to the date on our MCHS website.
Free and Reduced Lunch Applications:
Please know that beginning with the 2022 – 2023 school year, full-paid Breakfast will be $1.75, and Lunch will be $3.25. While meals last year were free for all students, beginning this school year, only families who apply and receive Free or Reduced Price Meals will be able to receive free or reduced-price Breakfast or Lunch. To help families get started on this, the Wake County Public School System has information on their website at this link. Paper copies will also be available for pick up at the school office.
Annual 12th grade Vaccine Notice:
Attention: Parents of Rising High School Seniors- Your teen needs another vaccine! North Carolina law now requires another dose of the Meningococcal vaccine for entry into 12th grade. You may provide a copy of your record of immunization to Ms. Berry, Data Manager via email firstname.lastname@example.org, or by dropping it off in the Main Office between 7:00-2:00 pm. NC General Statute requires the immunization records with the required second dose be presented by the first day of school.

Juniors & Seniors:
As we prepare for the school year, it is now time to make plans for parking and off-campus lunch, as well as other privileges & events offered to our juniors and seniors. Below are some specific details about dues, parking and lunch passes.
As we gear up for the school year, it is important that our junior and senior class students are reminded of class dues to support grade level activities and functions.
Junior dues cover events such as prom (including the student’s tickets to both Junior and senior prom). Senior dues cover events such as the senior picnic, graduation, and senior year prom ticket.
Below are the dues for each class, and families can make payments in the OSP system linked on the website.
Class of 2023- $40 (Senior Dues)
Class of 2024- $40 (Junior Dues)
Forms can be found on the MCHS website (under the student tab). There are several steps to applying, and all pieces must be completed to receive a parking pass. Forms and payment can be made in-person starting August 18th in the Main Office between 7:00-2:00pm. If families are unable to print any of the forms, you may stop by the main office during summer hours to pick them up. If you have any questions, you may contact Ms. Sullivan at email@example.com.
Forms for lunch passes can be found on the MCHS website (under the student tab). There is a $10 fee to make the pass, and payments can be made in-person starting August 16th. Keep in mind, the form must be notarized. (Reminder, this is a junior and senior only privilege.)

Reminder that if you paid for your parking and/or lunch passes prior to August 1st, you may come and pick them up at one of the sessions below:
August 9th: 8:30-11:00am; 12:00-2:00pm.
August 10th: 8:30-11:00am; 12:00-2:00pm.
August 16: 12:00-2:00pm.
Fall Sports Parent Meeting:
There will be a Fall Sports Parent meeting tomorrow night, 8.9.22 at 6:00pm. in the main gym.
