Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families,
I hope all our families are continuing to have a great summer. This week we kick off August, which means the start of school is right around the corner! Below is another "summer updates" email, to continue to help you feel prepared for the start of school. I hope you find the information helpful, and we will begin with the more official weekly principal emails starting mid-August.
Important Information & Reminders:
Schedule Updates for School Year 22-23
Our MCHS Scheduling team is hard at work getting student schedules ready for the start of the school year. In the off-chance that students can see a schedule in powerschool at any time during July and early August, please know that this schedule is NOT FINALIZED and has a high likelihood of changing. We will announce via the MCHS website when schedules are finalized and students can view them in Power Schools. There will be an opportunity also announced for students to request a schedule correction based on very specific criteria. Please stay tuned!
9th Grade Student Orientation:
MCHS Staff is underway with plans for our Freshman Orientation! Our 9th Grade Students should “Save the Date” for August 11th from 8:30-11! This orientation will include information about resources, the start of school, and include a school tour. There will also be an opportunity to buy MCHS gear! We hope to see all our incoming 9th graders at orientation!
In conjunction, there will be a 9th grade parent information session from 8:30-9:30am. in the MCHS auditorium. For convenience, if a parent cannot attend the in-person session, there will also be a virtual parent meeting that night (August 11th) at 6:00pm. The link will be shared closer to the date on our MCHS website.
Middle Creek HS PTSA Board nominations are OPEN!
The Middle Creek High School community is made stronger by the support of our amazing parent community! It is time again to solidify our executive officers for the 2022-2023 MCHS PTSA Board and we need your help! Thank you so much to the following parents nominees for stepping up to serve:

YOU CAN STILL HELP by attending a virtual PTSA meeting on Wednesday, August 3rd at 11:00 to vote to approve these nominees, or to nominate yourself or another candidate! This meeting ensures that we have things in order for a successful start to the school year, so we would love to see you for this quick meeting!

If you have a senior who is interested in Senior Portraits, there is still time to schedule with Lifetouch! Visit the link below for more information on summer sessions. MCHS will also have opportunities just for the tux and drape photos during the school year if you aren't able to get scheduled this summer. We want to make sure all our seniors have this picture for our yearbook and senior wall!
Annual 12th grade Vaccine Notice:
Attention: Parents of Rising High School Seniors- Your teen needs another vaccine! North Carolina law now requires another dose of the Meningococcal vaccine for entry into 12th grade. You may provide a copy of your record of immunization to Ms. Berry, Data Manager via email firstname.lastname@example.org, or by dropping it off in the Main Office between 7:00-2:00 pm. NC General Statute requires the immunization records with the required second dose be presented by the first day of school.

Fall Sports Tryouts and Preparation:
FALL Sports begin TRYOUTS THIS WEEK! - Prospective Student Athletes should contact their sport specific coach if they are interested in trying out! Athletes have to be cleared in Dragonfly before they can tryout! Here are a few good links if you need more info:
https://www.dragonflymax.com/ - make sure ALL forms are completely filled out and the 2 forms that must be signed by the Dr. have the signature, stamp, and date on the forms. Registering takes about 30 minutes and you will need to upload the 2 forms that the Dr. signs. Everything else is electronically signed. Be sure to use full names in places it asks for signatures!
RENT A MUSTANG PROGRAM:
If you have a student athlete and are interested in learning more about the “RENT A MUSTANG” program, visit the link below. This is a fundraiser sponsored by our Stampede Club and benefits our sports teams. If anyone has questions, they can contact Ms. Downen at email@example.com.
