I hope everyone has had a great week! Below are some updates and reminders below next week. Keep in mind that Monday is a teacher workday, so students will just be on-campus Tuesday-Friday.

Spirit Week Next Week!
October 11th-15th is Spirit Week! Please encourage your student to participate. The themes are provided below for your reference.
Monday: Memory Monday/Senior car parade
Tuesday: Aliens vs. Cowboys
Wednesday: Professional on top/PJ on the bottom
Thursday: Anything But a Backpack (Students may carry their belongings in anything creative, except a backpack.)
Friday: Creek Colors
Annual Targeted Support/Improvement (TSI) Notification:
Per North Carolina requirement, we are providing the annual letter below informing you that MCHS is designated as a Targeted Support and Improvement school. This designation is based on 2018-2019 data and is due to a subgroup that was identified as underperforming. The subgroup identified for targeted support for MCHS is English Language Learners. Please review the linked letter for more information.

Financial Aid Night
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Financial Aid Night on October 7! If you were unable to attend, the recording of the presentation and handouts have been posted on the Student Services Website in the Academic Resources Section. Governor’s School Nominations
The Governor’s School of North Carolina is the oldest statewide summer residential program for some of North Carolina’s most academically gifted and talented high school students. The 4 week program is open to juniors, with exceptions made for sophomores applying in some performing arts areas. If you are interested, please check your Google Classroom for a Governor's School message from your counselor or see Mr. Ruggiero in student services!
CFNC’s College Application Week, October 18-22
Student Services will be having a variety of activities during CFNC’s College Application Week. Many NC colleges and universities are waiving their application fee during this week. There will be presentations on a variety of college admissions topics each day at lunch in the media center, and seniors can sign up for college application help during either 2nd or 4th block on October 20-22. Please have your senior check their google classroom next week to sign up!
Freshman Parent Opportunities - October 19 and 20
Freshman Parent Meeting: All Freshman Parents are invited to join us virtually on October 19 at 6:30 to kickoff Freshman Meetings! We will be discussing how to help your 9th grader have a successful year and what steps parents can take now to prepare for successful options for post-high school planning. This will kickoff our small group freshman meetings beginning October 25. The google meet code for this meeting will be on the MCHS website that afternoon.
Freshman Parent Meeting in Spanish: This meeting will be offered in Spanish by Mrs. Bozman for our Spanish-speaking families on October 20 at 6:30 via google meet. The google meet code for this meeting will be on the MCHS that afternoon.
