Principal's Weekly Message
Good evening Middle Creek High School families,
It was another great week here at The Creek. Next week, we are back to a full 5-day week and will officially mark the “half-way” point of First Quarter. Students will be reviewing their “interim”/progress reports on September 22nd to ensure that they are informed about their current status in each class. Please check in with your students on Wednesday night about their grades.
In addition, I have included some other timely updates and reminders below for all families in preparation for next week.
Important Information & Reminders:
Attendance & Check Out procedures:
If your student is sick, or has an appointment, you may send a note and any pertinent documentation to our attendance staff at email@example.com. They will make sure the necessary changes are made in powerschool. An absence can only be excused if a note is submitted within 48 hours of the absence. Thank you for helping us keep accurate records!
Reminder that if your student needs to be checked out early for an appointment, you are encouraged to send a note in with them at the beginning of the day. Students can stop by the front office in the morning and receive their check out pass before heading to class.
WCPSS is still only allowing visitors on-campus during the school day for “essential functions”. For this reason, we are continuing to conduct the “check out” process via the intercom system at the front of the school. Please be prepared to wait out front for your student to be dismissed. Other options for checking students out include calling the attendance office, or sending a note with documentation in with the student to start the day. We know this is not always a smooth process, so thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
Career Connections Parent Survey:
On behalf of our Career Development Coordinator, Wendy House and our Middle Creek Business Alliance, I am sharing with you a link to a brief parent survey. Our school and Business Alliance is actively seeking ways to involve more parents in the educational activities taking place at Middle Creek High School. We need YOU! I encourage you to complete the brief survey so that we can find ways to make connections with you, our parents. Your professional and business experiences could be invaluable to a program or teacher at MCHS. We would love to engage with you to see how you can get involved in supporting our mission to produce high quality graduates, ready for productive citizenship in higher education or the workforce.
Please take just a moment to complete this brief questionnaire.

In the market for a new mattress?? Support the MCHS Band and Chorus this weekend!
If you, or someone you know is in the market for a new bed, please consider checking out the MCHS Mattress fundraiser on September 19th from 12-5pm in the MCHS Aux Gym. There will be 25+ different styles of beds on display for customers to try. The beds are new, brand name, made to order, available in all sizes, and cost less than retail stores. In addition to beds, there will also be luxury pillows, mattress protectors, adjustable power bases and even massage chairs!! Recording of Senior Parent Meeting & Other Resources!
Student Services met with almost 300 seniors on Thursday and we had almost 150 parents attend the Senior Parent presentation. For those of you who were not able to attend, or if you want to revisit something shared, please visit the Academic Resources sections of the MCHS Student Services Website for the video recordings of this week's senior meetings along with helpful handouts and links to help with the college application process. The site is also linked below:
*Don't forget to have seniors sign up for their individual senior meeting with their counselor through their Class of 2022 google classroom.
Have a student interested in Softball?
• There will be a softball interest meeting for all girls wanting to play for the Lady Mustangs on Sept 21 at 2:45pm in the media center
For ALL Athletes:
ALL Athletes should be registering in Dragonfly and getting all of your forms uploaded, signed, stamped, and dated! You cannot participate in any MCHS athletic activities until all of this is cleared by our Athletic Trainer, Coach Smith. Go to www.dragonflymax.com and create your account and fill in all of your medical history. There are 2 forms that must be signed, stamped, dated by the Dr office for you to upload. Please go to https://www.wakecountyathletics.com/middlecreekhs to make sure you get the correct forms.
Be sure to check the following things before you submit:
• Full signatures required, no initials or nicknames unless it specifies
• Make sure NOT to list the sport you want to play in the section that asks which sports you are not cleared to play (very common mistake!)
• All signatures, stamps, dates, and photos you may take to upload the documents must be clear!
• Upload all documents in the correct spot (only 2 to upload, if any doubt upload both to each spot)
