Principal's Weekly Message
Good evening Middle Creek High School families,
I hope everyone has enjoyed a wonderful weekend. We had an excellent first week of school and students did a great job following the safety guidance and settingling into school routines. Thank you for your patience at both arrival and dismissal-- it looks like we are in an efficienct rhythm now. Below are some details and new information for this week.
Important Information & Reminders:
“Meet the Teacher” Night:
On Thursday, September 2nd, parents will have the opportunity to participate in our Fall Virtual Meet the Teacher Event. Parents will use their student’s Wake ID account and log into each teacher’s google classroom for a virtual presentation. The schedule for the night is below:
6:30-6:45 - Block 1 (1st period class)
6:50-7:05 - Block 2 (2nd period class)
7:10 -7:25 - Block 3 (3rd period class)
7:30 - 7:45 -Block 4 (4th period class)
Our teachers look forward to sharing important course information with you that night. Please note, this event is “presentational” and is not a good opportunity for 1:1 student conversations. For an individual conference, please reach out to the teacher for a separate meeting.
Still want to purchase MCHS Spirit Wear?
Good news! The Middle Creek Spirit Wear store is staying opening for ONE MORE DAY! If you didn’t get the chance to purchase your Fall spirit wear, you can still do so, but only until midnight on Monday!! Please visit the site linked below to make purchases before midnight, August 30th. Now that the fall teams have been selected, it is a good time to order your athlete's authentic letterman jacket for the Fall!! Thank you for supporting our school and Athletic Boosters!
Middle Creek High School will administer the PSAT on October 13, 2021. The PSAT/NMSQT is an optional test and interested students must complete this registration form by September 10. (Students must be logged into their @students.wcpss.net account to access the form. It will not open for registrants outside of our system.) Juniors with a GPA at or above 10% of WCPSS juniors can take this test free of charge. The GPA cutoff is determined by the county and will be communicated when that information is released to schools. All other students must submit payment of $18 prior to testing. Information about how/when to pay will be communicated later through the @students.wcpss.net email address that is filled in on the registration form. Students who do not register to take the PSAT by September 10 will not be eligible to participate. Because our primary focus is on the safety and health of our students and staff, we will be offering the school day administration of the PSAT/NMSQT on October 13 to only current WCPSS students.
If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Anna Carpenter at email@example.com.
Safety and School-based Guidelines:
MCHS staff continue to monitor the current WCPSS and DHHS Safe Schools Guidelines as we prepare for the start of the school year. We feel good about the processes and procedures in place to ensure maximum student safety, while still allowing for a social and authentic in-person experience. To that end, we have updated our “Return to School” Guidance document to reflect the procedures and processes that we will use to start the school year. Please keep in mind that things are always subject to change, and we will continue to update both our procedures and this document as may be needed throughout the year.
