Good evening Middle Creek High School families,
I hope you have all had a wonderful week! We had a great turnout for our 9th grade orientation this week, for our 10th grade and new student campus visits, and for our lunch and parking pass opportunity. It was wonderful to see the students and feel their excitement to get the year started! I am continuing to provide some important information related to the start of the school year, both new and review, and appreciate your attention to all the details. This email contains a lot, but hopefully all helpful in your preparation for the year!
Important Information & Reminders:
Our MCHS Scheduling team worked tirelessly this summer getting all of our students scheduled for the school year. At this time, we are pleased to announce that schedules are FINALIZED and what they see in Powerschool is their complete and finalized schedule.
If you believe there is an issue with your student’s schedule, below is a link to the process/procedure to request a schedule change with Student Services.
Want to purchase MCHS Spirit Wear?
Our Middle Creek Spirit Wear store is now open! Please visit the site linked below to make purchases between now and August 27th.
9th Grade Virtual Parent Information:
We know our families are very busy during the summer, and many were unable to attend the parent session. If you are an incoming 9th grade parent and were unable to attend the virtual parent session, we are working on uploading the recorded session to the website (Green Bar). We will send out an email early next week once the recording has been successfully posted.
CNS is hiring! Can you or someone you know help?
WCPSS has a shortage of employees to staff the cafeteria and food service positions to start the school year. WCPSS Child Nutrition Services is currently hiring for all positions. Middle Creek HS is currently short-staffed, so you would be helping out our school!! This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to work on the same calendar/schedule as your students, only school days- no workdays, with salary and benefits. If you are interested, please visit the site linked below and/or email Karen Taylor (CNS Supervisor) at email@example.com, or Principal Peckham at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Parents- Please get involved!
If your student told you that high schools don’t need parental involvement, that is NOT TRUE! While getting involved and volunteer opportunities may look a little different, we still strongly encourage and benefit from parent support. Below are just a few ways to get involved, whether monetarily and/or with your time. Thank you in advance for any and all support you can provide!
Join the PTSA! (Academic & Teacher Boosters):
As we roll out the red carpet for our MCHS students to return, it's time to do our part in supporting them by JOINING THE MCHS PTSA (Parent - Teacher - Student - Association).
How can you help? Based on the current health and safety guidelines in place, it looks unlikely that we will be able to hold fundraising events (like our craft fair and spring carnival) in the near future - maybe not at all again this year. With no activities last year, we have depleted a significant portion the funds we have to operate. By joining the PTSA, your dues and general donations go to help replenish our budget and allow us to continue to operate according to our charter.
Join today! - either as a student, faculty member, parent / guardian, or as a family. And if you are able, we greatly appreciate any general donations to the PTSA that you can make along with your membership.
Want to be even more involved in the PTSA?
As a part of that planning for the year, the PTSA still has several open officer & committee positions. Are you willing to serve? Please email email@example.com or Principal Peckham (firstname.lastname@example.org). We need to make sure the work of our PTSA is continued for our students and our school!
Stampede Club- Athletic Boosters
Support the MCHS Athletic teams and department by joining the Stampede Club. You can also purchase the “all sports” access pass, which allows you to bypass the single game ticket purchase process for all home MCHS games (non-playoff).
