Good evening Middle Creek High School families,
I hope you have all had a great first week of August! This week we have several activities and events running on-campus that may impact your students, including 9th Grade Orientation & Parking and Lunch Pass Pick Up. We are heading into the last few weeks of summer and hope you and your students are getting excited about the start of the school year!
Thank you for your attention to these details.
Important Information & Reminders:
Get Started Supporting MCHS this year by joining the PTSA!
As we roll out the red carpet for our MCHS students to return, we are sharing an opportunity for you to do your part in supporting them by JOINING THE MCHS PTSA (Parent - Teacher - Student - Association). Why join? What does the PTSA do? Although many of our activities and events were less visible last year due to Covid restrictions and limitations, PTSA was able to support our students and staff in the following ways:
* Provided 3 scholarships to deserving MCHS students ($1,000 each)
* Partnered with the Admin team to find creative ways to reward our honor roll students (raffles for treat bags and Krispy Kreme certificates)
* Supported staff members with grants for educational materials and training
* Provided an Amazon gift card for every MCHS staff member for Teacher Appreciation Week
* Supplied door prizes for staff development events
* Created 'welcome back' snack bags for staff members upon building re-opening
How can you help? Based on the current health and safety guidelines in place, it looks unlikely that we will be able to hold fundraising events (like our craft fair and spring carnival) in the near future - maybe not at all again this year. With no activities last year, PTSA has depleted a significant portion the funds they have to operate. By joining the PTSA, your dues and general donations go to help replenish our budget and allow us to continue to operate according to our charter.
Join today! - either as a student, faculty member, parent / guardian, or as a family. And if you are able, we greatly appreciate any general donations to the PTSA that you can make along with your membership.
Just as we demonstrated in 2020 - the Mustangs will again succeed - together.
9th Grade Student Orientation:
MCHS Staff is hard at work, prepping for our Freshman Orientation, THIS WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11TH!
We will be splitting the freshman class into two groups to accommodate size, so please plan to attend based on your last name:
8:00-11:00 Students with Last Names that begin with: A-La
1:00-4:00 Students with Last Names that begin with: Le-Z
This orientation will include information about resources, the start of school, and include a school tour. There will also be an opportunity to buy MCHS gear.
Parents of 9th Graders:
** The above orientation is for students only. A parent information session will be conducted virtually on the evening of August 11th, for both English-speaking parents (6:00pm.) and Spanish-speaking parents (7:00 pm), and will be recorded for those that cannot attend. Link information will be provided via email and on our website on Wednesday!
Though the in-person orientation is for students only, there will still be an opportunity for parents and families to purchase MCHS gear, joining the Athletics or Arts Booster groups, and get powerschool information in the Student parking lot when you drop off or pick up your attendee.
2020-2021 Yearbooks are IN!!! If you were not able to pick up your yearbook and would still like to, please visit the MCHS Main Office M-F between 8:00-3:00. Please bring a photo ID to pick up pre-ordered books. If you did not order one, but would like to buy one, please bring a check for $75.00 made payable to Herff Jones, not MC!
