Principal's Weekly Message

Good afternoon Middle Creek High School families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend that exams are off to a great start!

Below are some weekly updates and reminders to assist in a strong finish to this school year!

Important Information & Reminders:

Parent Engagement Survey:

We have all worked together to make the best of this crazy year! As we head into the summer and begin plans for next year, MCHS would like to get parent/guardian feedback related to communication and other topics. Please take a few minutes to complete the very brief survey linked below. Our school improvement and leadership teams will be using this feedback to help evaluate communication and resources and determine any areas for possible improvement.

Parent/Guardian Engagement Survey

The survey will be open until tomorrow and we ask that you take it once per family.

Final Exams!:

Exams are well underway, with only 2 more days to go. Similar to the Fall Semester, in-person/on-campus exams will occur for EOC  (Math 1, Math 3, Biology, English 2) and CTE courses and other classes will serve their final exams online via the virtual platform.

Here is the exam schedule for you to review.

Please keep in mind that any student taking an exam on-campus will need to complete an  “Early Release” form in order to be dismissed after testing, earlier than 2:15pm on the day of the test. Without the pass/form, the student will be assigned to a supervised room to wait until the end of the official school day.

2021 Yearbooks:

The 2021 MCHS Yearbook will once again be doing a summer delivery! Due to continually changing schedule with schools and activities occurring so much later, we wanted to capture as much of the school year as possible for the students. Once yearbooks have arrived, we will be posting it on our website and announcing it on Twitter as well. We hope to do it the last week of July as we did last year.

Senior Class 2020-2021 Information:

Senior Scholarship Totals:

MCHS wants to recognize all Seniors who earned scholarships for college by having a listing of these at graduation.  If you have not already done so, please email a picture or copy of your student's scholarship offer to Mrs. Mercado at dmercado@wcpss.net.  Scholarships can be reported even if the student is not accepting them.  The MCHS Class of 2021 has already compiled over $7 million dollars in scholarship money based on scholarships previously reported and listed in the senior survey that students completed in early May.  We would love to have all scholarships reported and represented to honor the achievements of the Class of 2021!

Graduation:

Thank you to everyone for your participation in the graduation session sign up. Below are some other important tidbits as the big event draws near!

  • If you do not have a cap and gown yet and need to borrow one, there are some still available. This is first come first serve process and you must contact Ms. Sullivan ASAP at jsullivan2@wcpss.net.

  • Any questions about scheduling for graduation, please contact jsullivan2@wcpss.net

  • Any seniors who still need to pick up tickets, cords, or other graduation items, can come by the Main Office to pick them up Tuesday-Thursday from 7:00-3pm.

That concludes my updates and reminders.  I hope everyone has a great week!

Lacey Peckham, Principal
