Principal's Weekly Message
Good evening Middle Creek High School families,
I hope everyone’s last week of classes is off to a great start!
Below are some weekly updates, an opportunity to give feedback, and reminders about exams, which start Friday!
Important Information & Reminders:
Parent/Guardian Engagement Survey:
We have all worked together to make the best of this crazy year! As we head into the summer and begin plans for next year, MCHS would like to get parent/guardian feedback related to communication and other topics. Please take a few minutes to complete the very brief survey linked below. Our school improvement and leadership teams will be using this feedback to help evaluate communication and resources and determine any areas for possible improvement.
The survey will be open until June 7th and we ask that you take it once per family.
We are quickly approaching the end of the semester, which means end of course/class testing begins this Friday! Similar to the Fall Semester, in-person/on-campus exams will occur for EOC (Math 1, Math 3, Biology, English 2) and CTE courses and other classes will serve their final exams online via the virtual platform.
Here is the exam schedule for you to review.
Teachers will also be sharing with students and can answer any questions about the schedule you may have.
Please keep in mind that any student taking an exam on-campus will need to complete an “Early Release” form in order to be dismissed after testing, earlier than 2:15pm on the day of the test. Without the pass/form, the student will be assigned to a supervised room to wait until the end of the official school day. This form will be posted on the MCHS website mainpage in the coming days.
Important AP Testing Information
As all AP Tests are online this year (except for Music Theory and Spanish), there are steps that students must take now to prepare their device for AP Testing. Please refer to the instructions at this link to make sure that your student is ready to test in May: AP Testing App Instructions. Students can test on any Mac, PC, or school-issued Chromebook (not personal Chromebooks). If your student does not have access to any of these devices, please email Mrs. Gillespie at email@example.com to arrange for your student to test using a school laptop on campus. This information was also emailed to students on Thursday, 4/15, using the email address they provided in their College Board account.
Senior Class 2020-2021 Information:
Senior Awards Ceremony:
The Senior Awards Ceremony will be virtual this school year. On June 3rd at 6pm, a video will be posted on the MCHS website for all parents to access in order to view the recognition event and celebrate award winners. Award certificates will be presented to students at the Senior Parade on June 4th.
MCHS Link-- in case you want to bookmark it ahead of time!
On June 4th starting at 3:30pm we will be hosting a Senior Parade. Students may decorate their cars and drive through the campus one last time. At the parade, seniors will be able to sign the Spirit Rock, pick up tickets for graduation, pick up any cords/regalia or awards certificates, take some pictures and a we will have few surprises for everyone too! We hope all our seniors can attend. Students will enter the campus through the main entrance off of Middle Creek Park Ave. If students are unable to attend the parade and therefore pick up the items listed, they can be picked up in the main office on June 7th between 7am and 3pm.
That concludes my udpates and reminders. I hope you all have a great rest of the week!
Lacey Peckham, Principal
