Principal's Weekly Message

Good evening Middle Creek High School families,

It was another great week here at The Creek. November has flown by, and we hope all of our students and families are looking forward to some down time and relaxation over the next week.

Before heading into reminders and key information,  one important reminder to highlight is that Monday and Tuesday will be State-identified “Remote Learning” days.  This means that students will be working on asynchronous assignments, and do not have “live sessions”.  Teachers will be working on grading, planning, and collaborating with colleagues and will be available for their office hours between 1:00-3:00. Following the Thanksgiving Holiday Break, we will resume our live class schedule on Monday, November 30th.

Also, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I want to express my immense gratitude to all of the family members in the MCHS community. The circumstances of this school year are far from ideal, and I am sure is testing the patience and resilience of us all. I have been, and continue to be, humbled and grateful for the immense amount of parental support  you have provided to your students, both academically and emotionally, and our staff. I thank you for granting us grace and flexibility and for helping  maintain a focus on what is best, given the unique circumstances. Having our community all working as one team has made an immense difference and I am grateful for each of you.

Senior Class 2020-2021 Information:

For those seniors who have not yet turned in their updated immunization records, the state extended the deadline. The requirements to submit a certification of immunization and a school health assessment will be reinstated on December 1, 2020. The 30-day grace period will end December 30, 2020. If a new student moves into the district, they have 30 calendar days from their first date of attendance, whether attending remotely or in-person. After the 30-day grace period, a student would have to be excluded from in-person and remote learning until compliant with requirements.

That concludes my updates and reminders for next week. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and holiday break.

Wishing you health!

Lacey Peckham, Principal
