Asynchronous/Remote Learning Day Wednesday-11/18:

WCPSS has approved the incorporation of asynchronous (“non-live’) days for the second quarter. These days provide students the opportunity to work on assignments at their own pace for the day, not having to adhere to a “live” teacher schedule. Students should log into each of their google classrooms to find assignments. Posted assignments are meaningful and should take approximately 45minutes. Advanced Placement class assignments should take no more than 90 minutes.

Additionally, staff is providing office hours to students from 1:00-3:00. Students can check in with their English, Social Studies, Arts, CTE, Special Ed teachers between 1:00-2:00; and Math, Science, World Language, Health/PE, Student Services between 2:00-3:00.

For those that like to plan ahead, MCHS will be following the approved asynchronous (& RL)  days this month on: Nov. 23rd, Nov. 24th.

Athletics:

Update on Masks:

WCPSS and MCHS have received updated information from the NCHSAA.

Out of an abundance of caution and to create consistency for all indoor athletic activities, The memo indicates that effective immediately face coverings are required for indoor workouts for all sports. This includes all practices and contests effectively immediately. Thank you for cooperation in ensuring that this requirement is followed by all student athletes.

That concludes my updates and reminders for next week. Enjoy your weekend!
Yours,

Lacey Peckham, Principal
