Principal's Weekly Message

Greetings Middle Creek High School families,

This is Lacey Peckham, Principal of Middle Creek HS, with a jam-packed weekly update for you as we head towards our first week of school!

This week’s email is focused on reminders and information for all students as we strive to provide as much information as we can to start school successfully. Thank you for your patience as we work through navigating and building this new way to open school, and manage two different “MCHS” settings.

Orientation Weeks-- Schedule Provided!

As outlined by WCPSS, the first two weeks of school (from Monday, August 17th through Friday, August 28th) will be “orientation” weeks. The purpose of the orientation is for meet-and-greet, acclimation to resources and teacher sites, and distribution of supplies. At this time, we are excited to share our orientation schedule with you! See the document linked below for a day to day breakdown.

MCHS 2020-2021 Orientation Schedule

Please keep in mind that we are juggling many needs, responsibilities, and readiness levels of families and want to get everyone off to the best start possible. Even when courses are not “live”, there will be actions/activities that will need to be completed to count student attendance.

9th Grade & New Student Schedule Pick Up Event:

We look forward to welcoming all our new and 9th grade families into the Middle Creek High School community.  On Wednesday, August 12th all 9th grade students and a parent will have the opportunity to come by the school and pick-up schedules and information packets. Families should plan to arrive at MCHS during the time frame based on their student’s last name. This will help us serve families quicker and more efficiently. See below for schedule:

A-D- 8:00-9:00

E-L- 9:00-10:00

S-Z- 11:00-12:00

There will also be a chance to join the PTSA, Stampede Club, and Arts Booster groups during your visit.

All other grade levels students should expect their Fall 2020 schedules to be live on powerschools on Thursday, August 13th at 8:00am.

Parking Passes for 2020-2021: Update!

A decision has been made that the WCPSS will waive student parking fees for the 2020-2021 school year as long as we are in plan B or plan C status.  All schools will continue with their normal registration and procedures for issuing parking tags with the exception of collecting fees.  When we move to plan A status, the district will charge the students for parking tags by prorating the costs for the remaining time left in the school year based upon the previously approved $200 fee.  Once the process/procedures have been set up for MCHS, we will let our families know.
