How to Handle Screen Time: Parent Educational Opportunity

Hayes Barton Baptist Church is hosting a parent presentation on Sunday, September 10, 2023, designed for adults only. Mandee Hamann from Screen Strong will present Kids’ Brains and Screens, a basic overview of the science behind healthy brain development, the effects of screens on the developing brain, symptoms of overuse, and solutions to prevent and reverse the effects of addictive screen habits. This event is not religiously affiliated.

Dinner and childcare will be provided from 5:00–7:30 p.m. at 1800 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27608. Click HERE to sign up for the event. 

Girls on the Run Volunteer Coaches Needed

PMES is fortunate to have several parents who expressed interest in helping with this program. However, we are seeking a few more volunteer coaches. If you are interested in one of these positions, your child’s tuition into the program will be waived. 

We are pursuing a September 19 start date for this ten-week program, which will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. Further information about registration and enrollment in the Girls on the Run club will be forthcoming.  

CCR Back to School Night

Ms. Peat-Edjang and Ms. Baldwin will host a Back to School night for parents of students receiving support services to meet IEP goals. This session will inform parents about the interventions used in the resource room and describe in-class support.
