Bus Transportation Alert 

Please note that traditional calendar students begin school on Monday. We are expecting delays in pick up and drop off.  As you may be aware, WCPSS is experiencing a shortage of bus drivers. Please check the live bus updates https://www.wcpss.net/Page/10147  or download the app

Volunteer Opportunity: Partners Read

PMES is seeking 5-7 volunteers to read with 1st-grade students one time per week consistently through the Partners Read program. This grant-funded program encourages readers by providing high-quality books and building relationships between adults and students to promote reading. To read more, follow this link.

The program will run Wednesday afternoons from 3:00-3:30 p.m. beginning Oct 11th. 

 

Please email Ms. Couch, Site Coordinator, at mcouch@wcpss.net if you are interested in becoming a volunteer. She will then send you information about registering and completing the required brief online training.  

 

Volunteer Opportunity: Chess Club

Volunteers are needed to coach the third-grade chess club students. Chess club will be held once a week from 10:50-11:50 a.m. Please contact Mary Hunter Martin at mmartin@wcpss.net if you are interested in volunteering. 

 

Girls on the Run

Thank you for your responses to volunteer to become a site manager or coach to support the Girls on the Run chapter at PMES. PMES is fortunate to have several parents who expressed interest in helping with this program. We will send out more information soon regarding registration for a mid-September start date for this ten-week program.
