First Week of School

The first week of school was a huge success! The students have created their hopes and dreams, rekindled friendships, and begun getting to know their teachers. PMES demonstrates a true sense of community!

Frolic Information

Please mark your calendars for our annual school community event. THE Frolic. The Frolic will be held on Sept 15th. Information is being sent home in your child's Friday folders. 

We are in search of donated items for our auction and for t-shirt sponsors. Please contact Ms. Martin at mmartin@wcpss.net if you can help with items or sponsorship. If you would like to join the Frolic committee, please get in touch with Amy Stritzel at amybell33@hotmail.com.  

Late Arrivals 

We want to emphasize the importance of all children being in their seats and ready to learn by 8:30 am.  Please consider the educational impact of arrival time for your child each day. Studies conducted by the U.S. Department of Education show that attendance is a significant factor in school success and student behavior. While it may only seem like 5 or 10 minutes late, it directly affects your child's academic success, and each of these minutes adds up over time.

Some strategies that may help include:

packing lunch boxes and backpacks the night before, setting clothes out the evening before, and leaving 10 minutes earlier. 

Children should have at least 10 hours of sleep. Backing up bedtime a few minutes each night to ensure they receive it may help wake sleepy children in the morning.
