Principal's Weekly Message 4/28/19

Greetings,

This is Xavier King, Principal of the Wake Young Men’s Leadership Academy sharing the latest news and events. I would first like to thank everyone for a warm welcome as I have concluded my first week here at the Academy.

Middle school students will begin the week on a “B” day schedule.

 

This is just a reminder, all students should be in uniform during the school day.

 

Uniform Dress Code

Monday:  School polo

Tuesday:  School polo

Well Dressed Wednesday:  Full Uniform

Thursday:  School polo

Friday:  School polo

Shirt

School polo days consist of days in which students may wear either a green, white, or grey polo shirts. Educational Outfitters provides green, white, and grey polo shirts with the school logo on them.

 

Pants

Students must wear flat or pleated khaki colored pants.

Socks and Shoes

Students must wear dark-colored socks and shoes. Business casual or dress shoes only (topsiders are appropriate).

Optional Uniform Pieces

Blazers and sweaters are optional. However, blazers should be black or navy blue. Sweaters are limited to plain black, gray, or green v-neck or cardigans

 

Upcoming Events:

 

  • Teacher Work Day

 

Wednesday, May 1st is a Teacher Work Day. Students will return to school on Thursday, May 2nd.

 

  • Phoenix Fun Day

 

Our Hardworking PTSA is hosting Phoenix Fun Day on Saturday, May 4th from 9:30-12:30. Please support our PTSA by attending this event. This is a time when we can come together and fellowship with each other and gives it gives our young men an opportunity to get out and play.

 

  • Panorama Parent Survey!

 

It time again to engage our parent community in a yearly feedback opportunity. All parents should have received emails went out recently with a link to this year's Panorama survey! Each link is custom just for you- so please check your inbox or spam folder if you haven’t seen it yet! Let us know how your experience has been at WYMLA this year. It takes about 10-15 minutes.

 

That concludes my voicemail for the week.  I am excited to see all our students back bright and early tomorrow!
