Community Service Information

Due to the continuing impacts of Covid 19 on our community, the 25 hour service requirement for the 2021-2022 school year will be optional for all students. Although completing hours will not be required for any student, students will be permitted to submit hours for credit with the Broughton High School Community Service Program.

  • These changes are in addition to the removal of the 25 hour service requirement during the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years.
  • Students will not be required to complete or make up these past hours at any time.
  • As with previous years in the program, parent approval is required when performing service hours.
  • Students are able to earn a silver graduation cord if they perform 25 hours over their requirement.
  • Students are able to earn recognition as a top 20 senior in the service program.
  • Seniors graduating in 2022 will not be required to have any credited service hours to be eligible for graduation.
  • The deadline for underclassmen service hours will be Friday, May 6th at 3:00 pm. The deadline for seniors to submit hours is Friday, April 1st at 3:00 pm.

As in the past, hours completed during the summer are credited to the upcoming school year.

PLEASE NOTE: we will be using a new system for the submission and recording of community service hours for the 2021-2022 school year. Please do not submit hours until you receive notification about how to submit the hours at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year.
