Middle School Athletic Guidance

The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines for middle schools that will be hosting after school athletic activities including workouts and intramural activities. All athletic personnel are required to review and follow all guidelines in the COVID 19 Athletics Guidance document in addition to information provided here.


●Season 1- January 25-February 19.

○Boys’ Basketball, Girls’ Basketball and Cheerleading


●Season 2- February 22-March 26

○Volleyball, Girls’ Soccer, Football and Cheerleading


●Season 3- April 7-May 14

○Softball, Boys’ Track and Field, Girls’ Track and Field, Boys’ Soccer


■Schools with pre-existing school sponsored baseball teams may plan for on campus

activities only during season 3 if approved by the principal.



●Limited to students who are in attendance for face to face learning on the day of the activity and

assigned students from the Virtual Academy, as determined by the school.

●Must have an up to date athletic physical that was signed by a physician on or after March 1, 2019. ●Must complete the Pre-Participation Health Questionnaire.

●Must be screened by school staff before the school day. VA students would be screened by school

staff upon entering campus for the activity each day.

●Number of participants is to be determined by school staff based on available space to keep

students appropriately distanced.

●Academic eligibility verification is not required.

●Open to all 7th and 8th grade students. After assessing interest and determining available space,

schools have the discretion to include interested 6th grade students if space is available.
