This is Principal Newkirk with the update for the week of July 24, 2020
We had 165 students sign up for the Virtual Academy. If you missed the deadline to apply, the window will open again next week from July 26-July 29. The application will close at 5:00 PM on July 29. This is only for initial enrollments. If you would like to cancel your enrollment in Virtual Academy you must contact me or my data manager JoAnn Thomas at school.

Take Home Technology Survey
Earlier this week WCPSS sent all families a survey to determine who needs technology to take home. Any device will work although IOS devices do not work with all applications. The Chromebooks that were used this past spring work well. Even if you indicated that you need a device on the Virtual Academy application, you need to complete this survey here: https://takehometech.wcpss.net/
Summer Building Hours
Our building is open Monday - Thursday during the summer for official business. We do work with a skeleton staff during the summer so please be patient if there are others in the building when you arrive. Our building will be open from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM Monday through Thursday.
Return to School FAQ
I hope to publish the return to school FAQ next week. Many of you sent in questions about the return to school. I am currently working on answers to your questions and will send this out once I have all of the answers.
Continue to encourage your friends and relatives to begin the process to register students for kindergarten and any other grade level. You can begin the process online at the link here or you may follow the link on the Zebulon Elementary website. Please email JoAnn Thomas to schedule a date to drop off documents at firstname.lastname@example.org.
