On Thursday, September 5, the North Carolina State Board of Education recognized MECME as a NC STEM School of Distinction at the "model" level. Since the inception of the award in 2014/15, only 26 schools (K-12) in the state have received the "model" designation, and only 17 elementary schools have been identified as schools of distinction.

This honor reflects the hard work of our students, staff, and community. We are proud to be leading the way in NC environmental STEM education!
