Weekly Newsletter

Good afternoon Kingswood Families,

We have a very busy week ahead of us.  The book fair will be open this week.  Students will have a chance to view and purchase books during their Library Special.  A flyer with the times that your child's class will attend was sent home last week.  Volunteers are still needed, if you can help, please sign up for an available time by using this link

On Wednesday, October 19th, our 5th Grade students will be taking part in an in-house field trip which will be presented by Camp Flintlock.  If you have not submitted the $20.00 cost, please do so as soon as possible.  If you need assistance, please contact Mrs. Hoffelt at

Thursday, October 20th we will begin our Fun Run / Fall Festival.  A schedule was sent home with the times that your child's class will be running (family members are welcome to attend).  Your child's teacher will share their class color, please have your child wear that color on Thursday.

Fall Festival Spirit Week will take place this coming week as well, the activities are as follows:

Monday 10 /17 - Wacky Tacky Day (Wear your wackiest and tackiest outfit)

Tuesday 10/18 - Hat Day (Wear a hat of your choice to school during the day, no hoods)

Wednesday 10/19 - Sports Day (Wear your favorite team's colors or gear to school! But remember to leave any sports equipment or balls at home!)

Thursday 10/20 - Fun Run Day (Wear your classroom color and get ready for the Fun Run!)

Friday 10/21 - Pajama Day (Wear your favorite, school appropriate pajama's for the day! Remember to leave your slippers at home!)

Thursday, October 20th - Fall Festival - We will meet at the old Library site on Academy Street at 5:00 PM.  We will begin the walk to Kingswood at approximately 5:15 PM with a police escort to help us cross the busy streets.  Once we get to the school, everyone will meet on the basketball court and we will begin the Pie in the Face activity of Ms. Sherry or Mr. Norton (your choice) for any student that contributed $150.00 by that day (please get these funds in by Noon so we have time to prepare the number of pies needed).

After this activity is done, games will be set up in the Courtyard.  A Hot Dog platter of 2 hot dogs, chips and a brownie will be for sale for $5.00 per plate.  We can accept cash or credit card (there is a courtesy fee of 4% when using a credit card).

The Book Fair will be open so that parents and students can attend together and purchase books for themselves or for their child's teacher.
