Weekly Update for April 8, 2024

Kingswood Admin Buzzzz

Kingswood Families,

We have a couple of busy weeks ahead, please see below.

April 9th, the Kingswood PTA will be hosting a Spirit Night at the Dairy Queen on Walnut Street in Cary. We would love to see you there anytime between 4:00-8:00 PM.

April 11th, we will have our International Festival from 6:00-7:30 PM and Jam Ice Cream will be on hand for you to purchase a yummy treat.  We will have food tasting tables in the Cafeteria for you to be able to try foods from different countries (thank you to the families that have signed up for this).  Each grade level will have a fun activity for your children to enjoy which will highlight the continent that the grade level is researching.  There will also be the culmination of the Science Fair in the Library so that you can view all the projects from students in all grade levels that chose to participate.

During the Week of April 15th, we will be holding Student-Led Conferences, please see below for the grade level specific day and time.

Stay safe during the Solar Eclipse today 🙂

Thank you, Ms. Sherry

Smart Phones and Watches

Students who carry a Smartphone or wear a Smartwatch will need to keep these in their book bag in the silent mode.  Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

COVID and other contagious illnesses

Lately, we have seen a rise in COVID and Flu.  Please make sure that if your child is sick, you consider testing them in order to help us keep COVID down throughout our building.  If you need COVID tests, we have them in the front office and would be happy to provide you with a 2-pack.  The recommendation for when a child is positive for COVID is for the child to stay out of school for 5 days from onset of symptoms and to wear a mask for 5 days after that.  This will help keep down the spread of this illness.  If your child has a fever, please keep them home.  They need to be fever-free without the use of fever reducers for 24 hours.  If your child has vomited or has diarrhea, please keep them home.  Thank you for your help to keep our students and staff healthy.

Carpool

Just our weekly reminder, NO LEFT TURNS- Coming into the carpool or leaving the parking lot.  Right turns only. Please drop off by 9:00 AM in the morning to avoid your student being marked tardy.  Please pick up by 4:00 PM, we dismiss at 3:35 PM.  After 4:00, you will need to come to the door to request your student.  If it becomes a habit, you will be asked to make other arrangements for your child at the end of the day if you cannot pick up by 4:00 PM.
