Quarter 4 Materials Distribution - March 24, 2021

Materials Distribution - Virtual Academy 1st-5th Grade Students ONLY!

All 1st-5th grade students who are enrolled in the Virtual Academy should plan to pick up their materials at our Quarter 4 Material Distribution Drive Thru on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 between 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.  Students in First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth grades will have materials that will be ready for pick-up. Kindergarten students will not need to come by, as you already have materials for the beginning of Quarter 4.

Please note that the 4th quarter begins on Friday, March 26, 2021. Please save the March 24th material pick-up date so that your child has the materials that they need to successfully start the 4th quarter.

When arriving in the back bus loop please have a piece of paper in your window with the following information:

Student name (first and last)

Grade level

SSA Yes or No

Electives

We have about 100 students who have not selected Quarter 4 electives.

Please sign up for Quarter 4 electives as soon as possible.

PTA Updates

“Moore” Laps for Moveathon: This week on March 24th for Virtual Students and March 26th for our in-person students, we will host our annual Moveathon, with two big goals.

1) Let’s run “Moore” laps to support our beloved Assistant Principal Moore and bid him farewell by doing the thing he loves the most- running.  Students: bring posters to say thank you and goodbye to Assistant Principal Moore at Moveathon! Let’s show him some love.

2) We are raising funds to create outdoor learning spaces and update our playgrounds, and we need your support!

Virtual students-if you cannot attend March 24th, we encourage you and your family to participate by running and raising funds at home. Here’s how:

Donations to support the Moveathon and your Hunter Star can be made in the Memberhub store here or via Paypal to hunterelementaryschoolpta@gmail.com.  Please share widely with family and friends who can support our Hunter Star runners as they show Mr. Moore some love and also raise funds for a much-needed update to the playground and the opportunity to create outdoor learning spaces for our teachers and students.

Need some inspiration?! Running not your thing? Our Hunter staff has given us a challenge. If we as a community can reach certain dollar amounts, get ready to see your favorite teachers parading around the school in various outfits, roller blading in the hallways, or letting our students make a graffiti wall. Look for a separate email detailing each challenge. If we reach our $10,000 goal, Mr. Barham himself will turn into a Hunter Rockstar and do a concert in EVERY classroom, in-person or virtually. Don’t miss out! Help us continue to put healthy and safe dreams into reality. Donate today!

Sidewalk Chalk Competition: Our judges hope to announce the winners this week. Stay tuned! If you forgot to submit a picture, please don’t despair! We’d still love to feature you on social media and give you a participation prize. Send in today, March 22!

Yearbook: The Yearbook Committee is currently taking the following items for consideration to be published in this year's yearbook. Please send all items to hunterptayearbook@gmail.com.

    * "5th Grade Portraits"- pictures of your 5th grader’s face to be used as a portrait. Please include the first and last name as well as what they want to be when they grow up.

    * Poems written by students.

    * Pictures of school events and virtual learning.

    * Pictures of students in Hunter apparel.

    * Photographs of student art.

Ornament: Lew Wilson Art has created an amazing ornament and print of Hunter! It is available on their website to purchase with 20% of the proceeds donated to Hunter PTA along with free shipping.

Yoga: Join Kelly each Tuesday morning from 8:30-9:00am.

PTA Nominations: Please consider if you’d like to join the PTA leadership in some capacity. No efforts are too small! We are hopeful that 2021-2022 will be a fantastic school year, and we can’t do it without your gifts and talents. If interested, please complete this google form. Descriptions of board positions and committee chairs can be found here. Thank you for your consideration.

The VMF is a weekly joint communication from Hunter GT / AIG Magnet Elementary and the Hunter PTA. Our VMF will be digitally shared with families on Monday and serves as a single resource for families to understand all that is happening in our school community.  Archived VMFs are available on the Hunter website.  Paper copies of the VMF are available by contacting the Hunter Office.
