Hunter GT / AIG Magnet Elementary School Updates

WCPSS School Board Approves Remote Instruction for All Students Jan. 4-15, 2021 - This decision was made due to the impact of an increased number of COVID-19 infections in Wake County.  Students who have been participating in Virtual Academy can expect a very similar experience as has been customary prior to Winter Break.  In-person students will receive a schedule for January 4th - 15th from their grade level teams. More information from the district can be found here.  If you have any questions, please reach out to your grade level teams.

Elective Registration for Third Quarter - All families received an email with information for third quarter elective registration.  Please complete the “Elective Registration” Survey by Thursday, January 14th.  Please contact our Magnet Coordinator, Jenni Johnson,, with any questions.

Planning to Ride the Bus? - If you are planning on having your student ride the bus to or from school, please complete the online Health Attestation form found here.  This form must be submitted before your child is permitted to ride Wake County Transportation.  One form must be completed for each child.  If you have any questions, please contact the school.

Books to Go Update - Thank you, Hunter Families, for utilizing our Books-to-Go curbside library! Due to changes with the Wake County schedule, Books-to-Go services will be paused after Jan 15th. Yearbook: We are still accepting photos of 5th graders. We hope to have a picture of every 5th grader. It doesn't have to be portrait quality, any picture of your child's face will work. Currently we have less than two dozen out of about 150 kids. To send a photo, either use the Google form here or email the photo, child's name and what your child might like to be when they grow up to

Cultural Arts: Be on the lookout this semester for more information regarding our Cultural Arts project in collaboration with artist, Lakeshia Reid, and in gratitude to the United Arts Council for the project grant.

Yoga: Virtual Yoga has returned! Join Kelly each Wednesday morning from 8:30-9:00am. Please refer to your VMF email or call the office for information to join the Zoom meet.

The VMF is a weekly joint communication from Hunter GT / AIG Magnet Elementary and the Hunter PTA. Our VMF will be digitally shared with families on Monday and serves as a single resource for families to understand all that is happening in our school community.  Archived VMFs are available on the Hunter website.  Paper copies of the VMF are available by contacting the Hunter Office.
