Kindergarten Orientation 2020

We are excited to reach out to all of our incoming kindergarten families for the 2020 - 2021 school year.  We know that these have been unprecedented times, and we hope that your family is well.

Although school may be currently closed, we are excited to welcome your family to Hunter for your child’s kindergarten year.  On May 28th and May 29th, we will host three, live, virtual sessions where families can participate and learn about kindergarten at Hunter and how best to prepare incoming kindergarten students.  The virtual sessions will include information from Briana Pelton, principal, Kerry Martinez, kindergarten teacher, Sandy Gernhard, school counselor, Jenni Johnson, enrichment teacher, and Jenn Birch, PTA President for 2020 - 2021.  Families should choose one session to join that works best for your schedule.  This virtual orientation is intended for parents and caregivers, and we look forward to sharing ways that we hope to be able to connect with children in coming weeks.  (Please note, we will also hold an informal question and answer session for returning Hunter families with currently enrolled students.) Please complete the following survey to RSVP and indicate participation in a selected session.

Although school has been closed, as a school family we have continued to carry out our values of caring for families, providing students with engaging, virtual learning experiences, and creating positive memories to help our students cope with such challenging times.  Please check out our School Closure learning resources, along with Facebook and Twitter posts that have showcased our Healthy Hunter Challenge weeks, Reading with the Stars, and “Hunter’s Masked Musicians.”  School may be closed, but learning, caring, and connecting continue for our Hunter Family.
