Students Get Excited About Science with NC State University
The first and fifth graders at Green enjoyed some engaging time with students from North Carolina State University this month. Students from the Initiative for Maximizing Student Diversity (IMSD) Ambassador Program visited to spread their love for science. The program visits students in their classrooms and conducts short experiments to get young students excited about science. This diverse group of engaging scholars also broaden the perception of who scientists are, what they look like, by moving beyond stereotypes. Students are reminded that not all scientists look like Einstein, work in lab coats or with test tubes. These students are spreading the word to K-12 students that science is everywhere and that anyone can be a scientist.
