Google Meet is the Google app that many teachers have been using to meet as a class online. Recently, WCPSS has made changes to Google Meet for the safety and security of students while they are online. The changes prevent students from:
  • Joining and entering a meeting before the teacher joins
  • Stay on after a teacher leaves the meeting
  • Rejoin a previous meeting without a teacher present
You will now have to use a meeting code or nickname to join a Google Meet session. The meeting code or nickname will not work until the teacher starts the meeting. To help you log on to Google Meet, please view this video:

Your child will login with their Wake ID and Wake ID Password. Ask your child's teacher for this if you are unsure what this is.

Your child will use this meeting code or nickname to join our meeting which your teacher will provide. Remember that the meeting code or nickname will not work until the teacher starts the Google Meet.

Please contact your child's teacher if you need help with this.
