Good afternoon Explorers,

It’s the end of Week 5!  Can you believe it?  Interims will come home today and Monday depending on the grade level.  Please be sure to check your child’s progress and sign up for a conference. 

 

Open House Success

Open House was a huge success!  We had a great turnout of parents and families.  A special thank you to our teachers and staff who put in the extra hours to engage with parents after a full day of learning and teaching. 

 

PTA is coming back #STRONG after Covid!

Get ready for upcoming PTA information and announcements!  Our PTA is on the rise and we are thankful to have this opportunity to have a PTA support and partner with the school.  Get ready for our PTA Membership Drive happening in September! 

 

Attendance Update

Each student will be coming home with an attendance letter.  We have a new process for sending in sick notes and documentation.  Please use the attendance403@wcpss.net email address for all notes and attendance communications.  The email will be checked once a day by our Data Manager, Ms. Rodger.  Questions about attendance: email Ms. Rodger at trodger@wcpss.net. 

 

Pancakes with the Principal is Back!

Join me for pancakes and learn about our school mission, vision, and our Title I program!  We will meet you in the Media Center at 8:10-8:40 on September 2nd.  Please RSVP here so we can be prepared with the right number of pancakes!  Pancakes will be served!

Attached are our Title I Parent/School Compact as well as our Family Engagement Policy. Please read over both documents and complete the Acknowledgement form. 

 

Meal Benefits

Please check with your children and be sure they are receiving a full meal daily.  

• There have been some changes to school meals this year. 

  • Elementary school breakfast will be $1.50 and lunch will be $3.00. 

  • Middle and high school breakfast will be $1.75 and lunch will be $3.25.

• Apply for free and reduced-price school meals at MySchoolApps.com or via paper copies available at your school’s office. 

  • Families who apply and qualify for free and reduced meals will receive breakfast and lunch free this year due to funding from the NC State Budget.

• If your family completed a meal benefits application last year your benefits will continue for the first 30 school days of the 2022-23. New applications are available at MySchoolApps.com.
