Principal Message January 17-21, 2022
School Messenger
Week of January 17, 2022
Dear Explorer Families,
We are moving along here at EGES. This week we are reaching out to both face to face families and our VA families regarding attendance, needs, and support. I look forward to helping you increase student attendance and engagement in the VA lesson. We both want our students to be successful and when we partner together, we create a strong bond of support for our kiddos. Please do not hesitate to reach out via email at cgraf1@wcpss.net or via phone at 919-773-7411.
We continue our School Wide Attendance Focus
Beginning on January 3rd we will have a school wide focus on student attendance. This particular time of the school year is important as we have a nice block of uninterrupted time to really impact student learning and success. Please support our efforts to have your child at school on time each day.
East Garner Encore Show Choir Update
Congratulations to Ms. Peters and the EGES Encore Chorus! They recently auditioned and made the cut to perform at the district WCPSS Pieces of Gold performance at the end of February. It goes to show that when these students set their mind to a goal, they can achieve it! More information and details to come about rehearsals, dress rehearsal, and the performance.
This Week:
January 17- All Week: NKT (K-2) and STARS (3-5) Math Assessment
Upcoming Dates:
2/21 Teacher Workday: No School for Students.
Volunteer Opportunities
If you would like to volunteer at EGES, please contact tstucker@wcpss.net. Mr. Stucker can support with the process to register to volunteer.
I want to end our weekly message with a thank you to our school teachers and staff. Amidst a pandemic, they greet our students with a smile and words of encouragement daily. During the day they remind our lovely bunch of students to keep their masks on, wash hands, among other things like completing class work or turning in homework. Our teachers and staff have families and worries just like you. They have to take care of things at home and then come to school and take care of things. If you have not taken a moment to “thank a teacher” please take a moment to do so. Send an email, a note, or a card just to say thank you for all that you do. Without our dedicated staff, we simply wouldn’t be able to do school each and every day.
Your Proud Principal,
Dr. Graf
