Week of November 8, 2021

Dear Explorer Families,

Week 14 is going to be short, but we will pack in as much instruction and as much joy as possible over these three days!

Attendance is important.  Coming to school regularly and on time supports our students with learning and engaging with peers and the curriculum.  In October, we focused on attendance with daily snippets during our morning announcements.  Stay tuned for an announcement on TalkingPoints with the grade level winner with the highest attendance rate.

Today we had a minor disruption to our school day.  Our custodian smelled an odor of gas near the cafe.  The building was quickly evacuated following our routine fire drill procedures.  The Fire Department immediately reported to campus and gave us the all clear to re-enter.  Repairs are underway to the identified issue.  This did impact our lunch schedule, however, all students and classes were able to have lunch within our normal time frames.

This Week:

11/11:  Veteran’s Day:  No School

11/12:  Teacher Workday:  No School

Upcoming Dates:

11/24-26:  No School:  Holiday

Bus Transportation & Notification:  Thank you for your flexibility with our late buses!

The bus driver shortage continues to be compounded by the bus driver “sick out”.  Bus drivers reporting to work is increasing and hopefully we will get back to capacity soon.

We will continue to post buses on Twitter.  This allows for instant updates for bus arrivals on campus and departures.  The Twitter handles are @eastgarnerES and @eastgarnerESbus. Buses are NO longer posted on TalkingPoints.
