School Messenger

Good morning Explorer Parents,


We made it to the last week of school!  It has been a challenging year but we our students and staff have preserved and overcome many challenges since August.  Closing out this school year will give closure to this unprecedented year and allow us to focus on the opportunities that lie ahead of us in the 2021-2022 school year. 


This week have a many tasks to accomplish including classroom and grade level celebrations. See below for specific dates and tasks:



  • June 10th:  5th Grade Celebrations:  Virtual (see individual classroom teachers for link) 9:00 a.m. Mr. Della Rosa, 10:00 Ms. Manchester, 11:00 Ms. Perez & Ms. Becraft
  • June 11th:  Pre K-4th Grade Virtual Celebrations:  See the Google Classroom notification from your child’s teacher for details.


Hot Spot Collection

All WCPSS issues HotSpots will be collected on June 10th and June 11th from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.  Please place hotspot and cord in the box or baggie it was distributed in and label it with your child’s name.  We will provide a receipt of return to you when you drop off the hotspot.  Ring the doorbell and an EGES Office Staff member will assist you. 


Return of School Materials

This school year we have sent many items home with students to support virtual instruction. Calculators, books, math manipulatives, white boards, etc.


Please return all items if your child is learning In-Person.

Virtual Academy students should drop off all materials that are not being used for 4th Quarter instruction.

Please contact your child's teacher if you have questions about what materials need to be returned.


Report Cards

In-Person Students will receive their report cards on Friday, June 11.

Virtual Academy students will have their report cards e-mailed by Friday, June 11.


Summer Learning Program

Notification of the summer learning enrollment program has occurred over the past two weeks.  A notification reminder will be sent today to all participants.  Please remember that retention notification is delayed until completion and assessment in summer learning for many students.  Questions regarding promotion/retention can be directed to the homeroom teacher and decision information questions can be sent to  Please use “Retention” as the subject line.  Breakfast and Lunch will be provided during Summer Learning. Your Summer Learning Lead Teacher is AP Anderson.  Please email with any specific questions.  


Again, thank you for all of the support and flexibility you have provided over the past school year.  We are thankful for your support and guidance you have provided to your child since August.  Everyone has done the best they could during this time.  Our school community is the best, and I am looking forward to starting a new school year with you.
