July 20, 2020

Good morning Explorers,

Just a couple of updates for the week:

1. As of today, 7/20, we are set to come back to school on August 3rd.

2. There is a School Board Meeting tomorrow, July 21st. The Board will consider moving to Plan C, which is remote learning. If this happens, I will update you as soon as possible so that you can prepare.

3. Last Day to apply for the Virtual Academy (

Many parents are asking about the difference of remote learning on Plan B and Plan C versus Virtual Academy. The Virtual Academy is guaranteed consistent virtual, rigorous instruction with school based teachers. Students start virtually and continue virtually until Winter Break. At this time parents will have the option to apply to come back to campus (pending COVID-19 restrictions) or continue for another semester in Virtual Academy. This is an option for parents who just want consistency or for students who may have health concerns that do not allow them to be in social situations.

Plan B means students come to school 1 day during Week 1 and 1 day during Week 2 and then one week during the month and then out for two weeks at a time, where they will be participating in remote learning via their device. This offers some consistency; however, it is dependent on the school system's decision about COVID response and the Governor's restrictions. So this is less consistent (at this time) than the Virtual Academy option.

Each family must determine the option that best meets your needs at this point.

Food Site Distribution continues at Creech Road Elementary school.

Office Hours: We are open in the Front Office on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 12:00-5:00 p.m. The enrollment process for Kindergarten begins here ( and the enrollment process for students in 1st-5th is here (

That's it Explorers! We can't wait to see you and welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year.

My Best, Mrs. Graf
