We hope that you had a great weekend. Please see the following for important news and information.
NO SCHOOL: There is no school this Wednesday, May 1. It has been turned into an optional teacher workday.
Morning Drop Off Reminder- Please remember that students should not exit cars or be dropped off before the 6:55 am each morning. We have noticed that some students are standing outside the doors unattended, waiting for school to begin, prior to our staff being on duty. Parents should wait until the adults are on duty before allowing students to exit cars. Also, students must not be dropped off on Rock Quarry Road as it is very busy with lots of traffic. Please make sure you enter campus before allowing your student to leave your vehicle. If you are dropping off students for carpool, please remember to be kind and stay in line. The safety of our students and our supervising staff comes first!
Panorama Parent Survey- SRMHS families-We want to hear your voice. The Panorama Survey was emailed on Monday, March 25th for a survey about our school. Please make sure to complete this survey as we want to hear from you.
WCPSS Dress Code Policy- Please be advised of the following requirements for student dress code. All students at SRMHS are expected to be groomed and to dress appropriately. It should be in accordance with the dress code policy adopted by the Wake County Board of Education (6410CI-5) and found at https://www.wcpss.net/policy-files/series/policies/6410-bp.html . In addition to complying with board policy on student dress, all students at SRMHS are required to wear shoes or footgear at all times on campus.
The prohibited “head covering of any kind” applies to males and females which includes any type of headgear, inclusive but not limited to: hats scarves, bandanas, “do-rags,” headbands, etc. The following examples are considered automatic violations of the dress code: masks or any garment which covers the face including sunglasses, pants not supported at the waist, and revealing clothing such as tank tops, mesh or lace clothing, spandex/biker shorts, halter tops, tops with spaghetti straps, female tops that are too revealing and any clothing considered inappropriate by the staff. Skirts and shorts should be an appropriate length and not too revealing. Students in violation of this policy can expect to be sent home for appropriate clothing; repeat offenders face a full range of disciplinary measures. With ever-changing styles, additional guidelines may be established to help maintain high standards of dress. The standards of dress are provided so as not to be distracting to the teaching and learning process.
