Mr. Saunders' Message 050519
Baucom Parents & Guardians,
This is Principal Saunders with this week’s Sunday Kickoff Message and what a week it is! It’s National Teacher Appreciation Weeeeeek!!! Please join me in showing your child’s teacher or teachers just how much you appreciate him or her this year, and please don’t forget about the Special Education teachers, Specials teachers, Ms. Barnes, Ms. Chambliss, Ms. Spencer, and others like them who also work with your son or daughter each week. The PTA will be doing a luncheon on Thursday for the staff and if that is something you or a grandparent want to assist in some way, please call Ms. Headlee in the office and we’ll get you to the right person.
Progress reports for the 4th and final Quarter go home this week so be on the lookout for those anytime between tomorrow and Friday.
School Nurse Day is this Wednesday. Nurse Money is a huge help with all of our student medical plans in the building. Please remember her too this week and specifically on Wednesday!
Yearbooks are set to go home this Friday, May 10th, in all classrooms. Please be on the lookout for your child’s if he or she ordered one this year. We have a limited amount to sell for $15 if you didn’t order one earlier this year.
Tomorrow morning, we have a special surprise for our 2nd graders as part of their Heroes Among Us unit of study they recently completed. Please do not mention this special surprise to your 2nd grader. Spoiler alert if they’re able to hear this message at this moment. Tomorrow, unless they have an emergency call or bad weather, the LifeFlight helicopter will land on our back field. I’m letting you all know this so that you will know that no actual emergency has occurred at Baucom if you hear or see the copter land or flying low in our general vicinity. It should be a neat experience and hopefully something we can start doing annually as part of that unit of study.
Kindergarten Orientation Night is this Thursday night for all parents of rising Kindergarteners so please help us spread the word for first-timers. It’s at 6:30pm.
Parents of students who do the Y-Learning after-school program through the YMCA, please note that the last day of Y-Learning is this Thursday, May 9th.
And last but not least, the annual PTA Backyard Barbeque is this Friday night from 5 to 7pm! We’ll have food trucks here so bring some money for dinner. You can bring a blanket or lawn chair too as we just take some time to hang out and fellowship with one another!
Thank you, Aviators and we wish each of you #blueskies this week.
