Mr. Saunders' Message 042819
Baucom Parents & Guardians,
This is Principal Saunders with this week’s Sunday Kickoff Message.
This is the last week for parent survey submissions and Baucom is currently 2nd in the entire district in submissions! I’ve posted the direct link to the survey in the Aviator Messages section of our main page so, if you can, please complete it for us.
Parents – Baucom has always had an Occupational Therapist who serves students with identified needs. Our most recent OT is going back to school for social work. Our new OT, for the remainder of the year, will have a service animal with her on the days of the week when she is with us. The service animal has been properly trained and should present zero safety risk to any student. If you have any questions or concerns, please email or call me.
Parents interested in Single Subject Acceleration for their child, please remember that the nomination window is open through May 6th. Info for it can be found on our website.
This Tuesday evening, we have our monthly PTA meeting at 6pm in the Media Center and following that, at 7pm, the Music Box Singers will perform in their Spring Concert and the students who participated in the PTA’s Reflections Art Contest will be recognized. We are so proud of our singers and our emerging artists!
And lastly, please remember that there is NO SCHOOL this Wednesday, May 1st, as educators across the state descend upon the Capital building in Raleigh to express their desire for increased support of public education in North Carolina. If you, yourself, would like to help, you can always email, write, or call our local state legislators to express your concerns with topics that impact you and your child like, but not limited to, K-3 class size legislation and its negative impact on 4th and 5th grade class size or the current state assessment model.
Thank you, Aviators, especially those who were able to make it out yesterday for School Beautification, and we wish each of you #blueskies this week
