Mr. Saunders' Message 02/24/19

Baucom Parents and Guardians,

This is Principal Brian Saunders with this week’s Sunday Kickoff Message.

Our annual PTA Silent Auction is coming up on March 15th and the PTA needs your help, both during the day for set-up, as well as that night during the event.  If you are willing to help your child’s school as some type of volunteer on the Silent Auction day, please email Laura Schwanke at

Parents – we will have a visiting author, Henry Cole, here in April for what has become an annual tradition here at Baucom. Order forms for an autographed copy of his book were sent home in student folders two weeks ago and are due this Friday, March 1st, if you’re interested.

Third Quarter progress reports will go home via your child this week so please be on the lookout for those.

TGA Golf & Tennis after school starts up for the Spring season tomorrow and, of course, the Young Rembrandts and Mad Science programs are well under way already on Mondays and Thursdays respectively.  Very soon our Science Olympiad team will compete.  Next year we will look to add some additional competitions and programs so that our students have a number of ways to get connected to school and show off their talents.

It’s hard to believe that we turn the calendar to March this Friday.  March 1st marks my five-month anniversary as principal and I want each of you to know the honor I feel to serve this school and the Baucom community.  I hope you realize we have something very special here, not because of any one person, but rather, because of our collective spirit to work together and sustain that which has already been built up. Your child’s social, emotional, and academic growth is our daily mission and we understand the importance of our work.  Thank you for investing your trust in us each and every day.  Please share the good news occurring here at Baucom with others you meet in the community and, if your experience has not been favorable, please email me or call me to setup a conference so that I can work on changing that.

Thank you Aviators and we wish each of you #blueskies this week!
