Weekly Update 1-11-2021

REMOTE LEARNING DAY will be Wednesday.  On this day, students should sign into their Google Classrooms and complete the assignments posted.  Students should also attend their small groups to extend their learning and for assistance. 


PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES: will be held January 13 which is Wednesday.  Please make sure to contact your students teachers or counselors to set up a meeting regarding any concerns if you have not been contacted already.


COUNSELOR CHECK-INS will be held Wednesday from1-2pm.  Students need to check their Google Classrooms for the information to join or can contact their counselor for more information.


QUARTER 2 ends Friday January 15.  Report Cards will be mailed home January 22.  Please review your student’s grades and contact counselors and/or teachers regarding any challenges or concerns.  We are here to partner with you.


ATHLETICS  All Zebulon Middle School students in grades 6 - 8 will have the opportunity to participate in athletics this spring semester.  There will be three shortened seasons (each about a month long) and students can participate in one sport during each season.  Girls and boys basketball and cheerleading will begin January 25.  Skill building sessions will take place Monday - Thursday from 3:30 - 4:45.  Students currently assigned to a cohort in Plan B will participate on the days that they are at school.  Students who are in the Virtual Academy will be assigned to a cohort and will participate only on their assigned weeks.  Virtual Academy students will need transportation to school at 3:30 each day they are participating and they must pass a health screening when they arrive on campus, and all athletes will need transportation home at 4:45.  There will be an after school bus that runs it's usual route at 5:00 each day.  All athletes will need a valid physical on file prior to participating in any skill development session.


All students interested in participating must complete submit this Google Form by Athletic Participation FormFriday, January 15.

MATERIAL DISTRIBUTION PICK-UP will be held January 19.  More detailed information will be shared next week; however, please make sure that you make time on that date to pick up Quarter 3 materials that are needed in order for students to access their work.


BUS ATTESTATION FORM is required for all WCPSS students that ride the bus.  If you have not completed the form it is due.  You can access the link for completion on our website.


EXTRA CURRICULAR AND CLUBS:   If you are interested in any of our after school clubs, please reach out to the advisor’s email on the flyer and they will provide you the meeting links.  All after school club meetings will occur virtually.  Utilize this link to view all of them.  ZGTMMS Student Activities


MEALS APPLICATION:  We are asking all to complete the lunch application.  If you have not done so, please complete it as it affects funding for our school.


FYI: Funding Available for Families Impacted by Remote Learning

To help support families impacted by remote learning, Wake County Government has launched a new assistance program called WakeSUPPORTS. WakeSUPPORTS provides funding to working parents, so they can afford to pay for their K-8th grade student to attend virtual school at a safe location with reliable oversight, or receive before and after school care. It also can pay for fees that accompany subsidized childcare for families who meet specific income criteria.

  1. Please check your child's bus route information in HomeBase: Powerschool or Please download Here Comes the Bus App to track the bus on your phone. If you have questions please call the front office.
  2. Carpool is now in front of the school near the gym entrance. Carpool Information Please click the link. Students can be dropped off at 7:45am and pick up is at 3:00pm.  Students must stay in their vehicle to be screened in the mornings.  You will turn onto E. Stronach and then N. Privette Street and turn left onto campus to access carpool.
  3. Please refrain from sending sick students to school as they will be placed away from peers in the Care Center awaiting parent pick-up and await clearance to return to on site instruction. Remember that students can ALWAYS access classes from home.
  4. All students can get free breakfast prior to going to 1st period and are offered free lunch while in rotation on site.
