Happy Sunday Wakelon Families!

 

This is Mrs. Nealy, your Wakelon Principal with our weekly updates!  I hope that you are all well and enjoying your weekend!

National Attendance Spirit Week: Please click this link to see some of the activities our students will be participating in.  Spirit Week will take place the week of September 18.  Please click here to see the daily ways your child can show their school spirit!

 

After School YMCA at Wakelon:  There will be a representative at this week’s Open House to share more information about this potential opportunity.  

 

Open House:  Open House will take place on Thursday, September 21 from 5:00-6:30.  The purpose of this Fall Open House is for families to learn more about Wakelon and about their child’s individual classroom.  All parents are invited to meet with Principal Nealy in our school’s cafeteria from 5:00-5:30 where you will learn more about our school!  You will also hear from the PTA president at that time.  At 5:30, families will be released to report to their students' classrooms.   

 

Transportation Changes: Please be sure to communicate with your child’s teacher about any transportation changes needed for your student the day of.  We send students home according to the transportation method recorded.  Please let that change be known as early as possible.  Thank you!

 

Autism Awareness Walk: PLEASE JOIN US ON OCTOBER 14th at 9:00am to walk for AUTISM! It has been a few years since our team got together for this wonderful event and we are excited to get staff, parents, and students on board this year. Did you know autism affects as many as 1 in 54 children in the U.S.? We support many students here at Wakelon Elementary that are on the spectrum, and we want to show them we care by supporting this amazing event/organization. There are different events to sign up for (5K run/walk competitive and noncompetitive or 1 mile run/walk). If you are like Principal Nealy and are unable to join us in person there is also a virtual option :  )  Please consider joining us.
