Happy Sunday, Wakelon Families! This is your Principal, Mrs. Nealy, with your weekly update.  I hope that you all are off to a great start with your Sunday!  

Rising Kindergarten: If you have a child who will be in Kindergarten, we invite you to attend our Kindergarten Information Session tomorrow at 10:00 am.  Parents will be invited to our school’s Media Center to learn more about the logistics of Kindergarten and Wakelon.  We encourage all rising Kindergarten families to attend. 

Wakelon Walkers: For all Wakelon Families who are in the walking zones.  Moving forward, all walkers will be picked up at a different location that is accessible from the front of our school building.  We will have a visible sign for all parents to locate the new pick-up location.  Again, this is for our walkers.   We will no longer dismiss Walkers from the carpool exit.  Starting tomorrow, there should not be any parents/guardians waiting in the front-entry walkway for students who are walkers.  You must be there before 3:50 to receive your student(s).  We will no longer call for any student during carpool. All late parents will be asked to wait.  

End of Year Awards Recognition We are excited to announce our End of Year Award Recognition Schedule.  We are looking forward to celebrating the achievements and academic growth of our students.  Please see the dates and times below.

East Wake High Graduation Walk Wakelon is honored to be a part of the first East Wake High School Senior Parade through our community’s elementary schools! East Wake High School students who attended Wakelon Elementary will come on May 23 and walk through our halls with pride.  Our entire school will be clapping out and celebrating these awesome graduates.  We are so proud of them!

Student Scouts: We are asking all students who are members of Boys and Girls Scouts to participate in leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance at our End of Year Awards Recognitions and Fifth-Grade Farewell Ceremony.   If your child is a scout please email Mrs. Nealy and let me know if you would like for your child to participate in leading us with the pledge of allegiance.  Thank you!
